CanWEA’s 27th Annual Conference and Exhibition

CanWEA’s 2011 Conference and Exhibition was a tremendous success with the attendance of more than 2,000 delegates and 250 exhibiting companies from around the world. CanWEA also unveiled its strategic vision for British Columbia during the Opening Plenary Session. WindVision 2025: A Strategy for British Columbia calls on the BC government to seek to put in place 5,250 MW of cost-competitive and low-impact wind power capacity in BC by 2025. By achieving this vision, BC could meet 17% of its total electricity demand and generate $16 billion in new investments. WindVision 2025: A Strategy for British Columbia is available at: http://www.canwea.ca/windvision_bc_e.php.

The success of the conference was made possible thanks to all of the delegates, exhibitors, sponsors, media, volunteers and staff that participated. CanWEA has received highly positive feedback from participants and we look forward to an even bigger and better conference next year in Toronto.
